The Nintendo Switch it has been on the market for quite some time, and it currently offers three distinct versions of it to fit people's budgets, and even (for the standard and OLED versions) it features a wide variety of colors to identify it or simply to make the console look even better, allowing you to choose the color combination that best suits you. Although the idea of the Joy-Con It has not been to the liking of many by having a slightly more compact size, that is why the company put it on sale. Control Pro as an alternative for players who were having problems with their games when playing them with the Joy-Con.

Opinion on the Nintendo Switch Pro Controller

I must mention that nowadays there are countless controllers in online stores, and in many cases they turn out to be quite identical copies of Nintendo's product, which is why many fear that when buying a controller they might receive one that turns out to be a copy of it. That last thing was what my person experienced, for I acquired a controller that was almost identical to the Switch's controller, but after researching you can find an original controller at a good price, in addition to giving you my opinion on the Pro Controller, I will also share some features that the pirated or counterfeit version lacks compared to the original Nintendo version.

In my case, I purchased my controller through the online store. Mercado Libre MX, and if I know it, I know that this has had the presence of knock-off technology products, but the promotional prices caught my attention a lot, since generally the remote is above the 2000 Mexican pesos (about 100 dollars approximately) and that on this occasion I was able to acquire it in 1,500 Mexican pesos (approximately $75) what instinctively drew my attention due to its affordability, and I decided to acquire it, in addition to which, on this occasion it had security from the store that was distributing the controller, which is Slang where I had previously purchased gaming products and knew that they were 100% original.

Once the controller was in my hands, I could appreciate a completely noticeable difference with regard to the Joy-Cons that come with the Nintendo Switch, as their buttons, sticks, design, and even vibration were completely different, and I was quite fascinated. Although, unfortunately for me, having played for more than a year and a half with the Joy-Cons significantly hindered my adaptation to the Pro Controller, since I was already used to the button layout, which was arranged in such a way that you could reach them without moving your hand so much.

In the case of Nintendo's Pro Controller, the buttons are larger and are arranged differently, although there wasn't much of a problem there; my dissatisfaction was the layout of the +, -, Home, and Capture buttons, because although in the Joy-Con version they are small relative to their size, I honestly expected them to also be close to the hands for interaction.

Apart from that detail, the triggers feel completely different from the Joy-Cons, since the materials they're made from feel firmer, and you sense a certain resistance that isn't bothersome, but that you feel is perfect for gauging the pressure you exert on them. But the other buttons don't lag behind, and likewise there is an improvement in the individual version.

The levers are another point to discuss, as they possess a smoothness in their turning that is quite indescribable and that leaves a fairly pleasant sensation; in addition, their levers possess a millimetric sensitivity perfect for playing video games Shooters or that require greater control in the gameplay. The battery is rechargeable, and when paired with its cable, will be your perfect accessory to keep you in the game. The handles are designed in such a way as to provide firmness, in addition to their texturing aimed at achieving minimal friction when hands are sweaty.

That would be all about my opinion of the Nintendo Pro Controller; now let's go over some recommendation tips so you can acquire an original controller in online stores. I know that to further ensure their authenticity you would have to buy it from a specialized store or one oriented toward gaming, but you have to understand that not everyone has access to such a store, so one option is to purchase it online, and these tips are precisely to inform you and to know how to identify an original version from a copy.

Even the controller ends up registered on the Switch.

How to know if my Control Pro is original?

As I mentioned at the start of the opinion, the first controller I ordered turned out to be one of the most detailed copies with minimal difference from the original product, fortunately I was able to make the exchange and acquire one of the original versions of it, although in its standard version, since I had originally requested the controller version with a theme of Splatoon 3.

After having investigated and corroborated with the remote control I had in my hands, I was able to find the following characteristics that differentiate the copy from the original:

Sensitivity of Levers

The levers of a Nintendo Pro Controller They are clearly recognizable, for they possess a millimetric sensitivity that, to date, copies have not replicated, now you will ask yourself How can I check the sensitivity of my levers?. This is checked in the part of console configuration, Controls and sensors, in the part of calibrate the control levers, where you can test on both joysticks and check at what tilt they move on the screen, the controller's copy has a notable difference at this point, which makes games that require exact precision end up in several glitches during gameplay.

Null update with the Nintendo system

If in the same part as in the previous point you go to the section of update controls, you'll see how the update screen appears to you, more, nevertheless, This would stay at 0% all the time., since the controller will have nothing to update upon belonging to the Nintendo company.

The charging port is quite loose (it disconnects with the slightest movement).

One detail that could be overlooked is connecting the dock's USB cable to the controller, since in The copy tends to come loose more easily., which causes the controller to turn off when it fails to identify that it is connected, causing you trouble in online games or those that require your 100% skills. Additionally, the cable and the Controllers tend not to be recognized by the Switch Dock., for the most part the Dock identifies the cable as USB, which in the copied version results in its existence being almost nil, Well, you'll see how it goes from having USB identification to only the charging one, and vice versa., something that doesn't happen with Nintendo's controller.

Details in the box

Another detail you can observe is the packaging in which your controller came, since there are two types of boxes for the counterfeit versions I’ve seen so far, and they are the most common. The first of these is the Japanese version With lettering obviously in Japanese, which features extra labeling and information that is not related to the controller, and on the box you can also observe a difference in the printing of the controller's image. The box only comes with English as the language, in addition to the fact that if it is a game edition it comes with words such as Edition, Edition, Edition.

The other version you can find is more notable and you can tell that it is a copy, since it bears no trace of affiliation with Nintendo, with the controller shown in the upper left corner replaced by an image of the Switch, in addition to having the name of Control for N-SwitchThis version also lacks the Nintendo details in its design, as it does not show the logo or name on the front of the controller nor on its back.

non-original parts

As the last and named by my person as trial by fireYou can tell that your controller is not original when you open it. By removing the screws that are in the grip areas of the controller, you will observe that both the circuit board and the battery contain Nintendo identification marks, which the counterfeit version does not have.

I would only recommend you do this if you have a controller you suspect isn’t genuine, because a recently purchased controller will only cause you to lose its warranty at the place you bought it, so you’ll be stuck with it with no other option.

In this video you can take a closer look at the details marked earlier.

And, well, that's all with regard to my opinion on the Nintendo Pro Controller, so if you're planning to buy or gift one, I recommend that you check the points mentioned above to verify its authenticity. It is worth mentioning that for the review I bought the controller with my own funds, nor Slang, Mercado Libre MX the Nintendo I contribute to its advertising or sponsorship, because its mentions in this review were entirely my own, without their involvement at the time of writing the article.

If you want to get yourself a remote. Nintendo Pro Controller, sincerely it recommends you to buy it (if you are from Mexico) for free market, more specific in the following link that I will leave you, since you'll find it at a good price and which was the version I used for the review:
